Egress Routes are only for Emergency Evacuations when it's dry!

This is a reminder to our NRG Firewise community that our egress routes (Chardonnay and Amigo/Felicidad) are to be used only during an emergency evacuation during the dry season. All egress routes include patches of dirt road where they can quickly become muddy pits during or after a storm, that can cause cars to get stuck! Imagine that? That could mean that fire trucks and EMS vehicles will not be able to get past these cars.

All egress routes are locked until an emergency evacuation. Do NOT use these routes unless you are instructed to do so because you can cause a bottleneck at the locked gate.

During the last 2 fires on NRG, even the fire engines had to pull over to allow enough room on our one-lane roads for other vehicles. With over 400 people up on NRG, evacuation will be difficult so please wait for evacuation instructions from the sheriff, CalFire, or Central Fire.

Use your MURS radio to get updates from our community.

And stay posted because the NRG Firewise BODs will be sending you an email or letter in the mail with information about our proposed communication and notification system that we hope to set up before the next fire season!
