If you’d like to join your Micro Community and the forum on NRGfirewise.com , follow these easy steps:
- Go to nrgfirewise.com
- Click on “Want to join NRG Firewise Community? Join our Forum!” in a green box on the home page of the website.
- Click “Sign Up” in the top right corner.
- Enter your email address, user name and password on the “Welcome!” page.
Also, select your Micro Community. If you don’t see your address listed among the 17 Micro Communities, choose one that is closest to you. Click on “Create your account.” - Check your email to get instructions on how to activate your account. If you don’t get an email, check your spam folder.
- In the email from NRG Firewise, you’ll get a link to activate your new account. Click on it or copy and paste it into your web browser.
- You’ll be taken to the NRG Firewise website. Click “Click here to activate your account.”
- You’ll get a notice that states that a moderator must manually approve your account before you can access the forum. This ensures that everyone in our forum is a resident in NRG. This may take a few days.
- Check https://forum.nrgfirewise.com to log into the forum. Click on “Log In” in the upper right corner. Enter your email/username and password.
- You’ll be able to see the posts for your Micro Community and for all members of the NRG Firewise community.
- If you would like to respond to a post, click “Reply” in the bottom right corner. Type your text and then click on the blue “Reply” button on the bottom left corner. Replies to the General categories can be seen by anyone in the forum. Replies to your Micro Community can only be seen by the people in your Micro Community and the administrator of the forum.
- You will automatically receive email notifications when there are new posts. That way, you’re in the know about what’s happening in our NRG Firewise community.
- To add your contact information to the PHONE TREE, go to the forum and click on “all categories” in the left corner. Select your Micro Community, and scroll down until you see the post “Please enter your contact info in our PHONE TREE!” You’ll see “Click here” in blue, and click it to add your contact information to your private Micro Community. Only neighbors in your Micro Community will be able to see this information. This PHONE TREE is where NRG Firewise leaders and your Micro Community leader will go to get the most current contact information for you. If you need to update the information, go to your post and make corrections. We will assume that all information is current.
