Join us for our NRG Firewise MURS test this Saturday at 9:00 am (March 21st). We really need to get more than our regular (and I appreciate all of you who join!) participants so we have an effective communication mode for all 300 households on NRG during a real emergency.
During a wildfire, we won’t know which exit or egress routes are going to be open, which firefighters will be coming to our rescue (or not), and how we can escape or where we can shelter if we can’t get out. Our MURS radios will be the ONLY way for us to communicate with one another.
Just one person on NRG who abandons their car blocking our many one-lane roads, can cause a bottleneck that will endanger all of us. We need to be able to talk to each other to get resources, manpower, and information.
Hope to see you on Channel 4 – our NRG radio channel!
