Santa Cruz County
This is the Santa Cruz County Office of Response, Recovery, and Resilience. A powerful atmospheric river is expected to move into our county beginning as early as Wednesday evening, bringing rainfall, high winds with gusts up 60 MPH, and powerful waves. A flood watch is in effect beginning 10 PM Wednesday through 10 PM Saturday.
Prepare for power outages, travel impacts, and localized flooding. Please review your family preparedness plans, charge any communications devices, secure items on your property for wind impacts and follow local news for updates.
A high surf warning will be in effect from 3 PM Thursday to 3 AM Saturday. Dangerously large waves will impact the entire coast, particularly west-facing beaches. Expect life-threatening conditions and significant beach erosion. Please avoid the coast.
